I don’t know the final name, but I’m calling app-metadata-get. It’s purpose in life is to connect to a repository (it’ll initially support YaST and Repo-MD repos, but the design will be generic enough for anyone to use), download all the packages, extract .desktop files from the packages and produce an sqlite database of the application metadata (name, icon, generic name, category, packagename).
