Using Facebook IM in Pidgin

(This is an update to a very old post of mine btw)

Facebook now supports XMPP (also known as Jabber) for connecting to their network.

1. Make sure you have a Facebook username set at http://www.facebook.com/username/

2. Goto http://www.facebook.com/sitetour/chat.php and then click the Pidgin link
